The C‑Class has always been one of Mercedes‑Benz’s best-selling and most popular model ranges. It is a success story characterised by innovation. In Mercedes‑Benz’s anniversary year, “140 Years of Innovation” the all-new electric C‑Class reinforces the brand’s pioneering spirit. With innovations that offer customers tangible benefits, it is redefining the segment. The electric saloon takes the “Welcome home” feeling that has characterised the C‑Class for generations to an entirely new level – with premium quality, outstanding acoustic comfort, exceptional digital experiences and a climate system that ensures a relaxed sense of well-being from the very first moment.

The electric saloon has been systematically designed for everyday practicality and combines a long range with fast charging and practical usability in daily life. The all-new C 300 4MATIC electric has a range of up to 690 kilometres (WLTP).4 Its 800-volt technology and a new lithium-ion battery with 85 kWh of usable energy capacity allow up to 290 kilometres’ worth of range to be recharged in 10 minutes.5 Fast DC charging is possible at 800-volt charging points with a power output of up to 320 kW. The new One-Box braking system optimises the recovery of braking energy and increases range. The system can recover energy even when the ABS is engaged or on icy roads; as a result, up to 99 percent of all braking manoeuvres are carried out without the use of the conventional friction brake. The recuperation power is up to 300 kW.

High agility and outstanding ride comfort

The all-new electric C-Class combines a high level of driving comfort with immediate response. With a peak output of 310 kW and torque of 800 Nm, the C 300 4MATIC sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The optional AIRMATIC air suspension compensates for road irregularities and adjusts the damping to suit the situation, while rear-axle steering tightens the turning circle and brings added precision and stability at speed. The electric all-wheel drive system (4MATIC) supports traction and driving stability. It engages only when it is needed, increasing the range.

Striking design with a coupé-like silhouette and iconic grille

With its design, the all-new electric C‑Class is a stand-alone emotional statement from every perspective. Distinctive sporty proportions make it unmistakable. A low and flat front with strong road presence, together with a taut roof line and a flowing, rounded rear, create a coupé-like silhouette. The iconic grille can be staged with light animations when unlocking, locking or charging – depending on option.

A new spatial and digital experience: “Welcome home”

The all-new electric C‑Class takes the “Welcome home” feeling to a whole new level: with premium quality and craftsmanship, excellent acoustic comfort and a climate system that ensures a sense of well-being shortly after getting in. The new high-end electric seats pamper occupants with lumbar support, massage, seat ventilation and 4D sound. The architecture, designed specifically for electric propulsion, enables a new space concept with generous room for passengers and luggage. Everyday practicality is enhanced by a 470-litre boot, a 101-litre ‘frunk’ (liquid)7 and a towing capacity of up to 1.8 tonnes.

The new 99.3-centimetre (39.1-inch) MBUX HYPERSCREEN makes for an immersive digital experience. Powered by the Mercedes‑Benz Operating System (MB.OS) and Digital Extras[viii], infotainment and driving become even more intelligent, intuitive and personalised. The MBUX Virtual Assistant supports a more natural dialogue. With Digital Extras, customers can flexibly customise their C‑Class even after purchase and adapt it to changing needs. New functions can be easily downloaded via the Mercedes‑Benz Store or the app. The continuously expanding portfolio ranges from entertainment, navigation, charging and GUARD 360° to MB.DRIVE features9. The entertainment offering currently comprises more than 40 appsacross various categories, including audio, video, gaming and other services.

Intelligent assistance for safe and comfortable driving and parking

The all-new electric C‑Class offers proactive protection with state-of-the-art driver assistance systems. Standard equipment includes DISTRONIC Distance Assist for speed and distance control (including stop and go) and MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST9,10 to support parking and unparking. Optional MB.DRIVE packages with extended driver assistance functions offer additional convenience: MB.DRIVE Assist9;11 combines DISTRONIC with Steering Assist (SAE Level 2 support) and can facilitate lane changes in extra urban areas. The optional MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 36011 adds surround visibility with a 360-degree camera.

Mercedes-Benz anniversary year “140 Years of Innovation”

Since Carl Benz filed the patent for the first automobile 140 years ago and Gottlieb Daimler built his motorised carriage shortly afterwards, Mercedes‑Benz has dedicated itself to constant innovation and to creating the world’s most desirable cars for customers. This ambition has driven every innovation – from the world’s first automobile in 1886 to the biggest product launch programme in the company’s history that is currently underway. With its passion for performance and pioneering power, excellence and an unwavering commitment to customer service, the brand has consistently shaped the future of mobility. The result goes well beyond engineering achievement – it creates the unmistakable feeling that runs through everything Mercedes‑Benz does: Welcome home.

Mercedes‑Benz is celebrating 140 years of innovation by driving three new S‑Class saloons on a trans-continental journey to 140 locations worldwide. Each place highlights the brand’s technology, heritage, pioneering spirit and worldwide presence. Along the way, customers, fans and colleagues will get to join in the celebrations - on an epic adventure that will run until October. Follow the “140 Years. 140 Places” drive across six continents on our “140 Years of Innovation | Mercedes‑Benz Media” special and via the Mercedes‑Benz Community.
