A milestone year for Mercedes‑Benz
In 2026, Mercedes‑Benz celebrates 140 years since the invention of the automobile. Since Carl Benz's patent of 1886, the company has continuously shaped the evolution of mobility through technological innovation, safety, comfort, design and performance. The anniversary year highlights both the brand's heritage and its vision for the future, bringing to life the promise that guides every Mercedes‑Benz: Welcome home.
The Paris Motor Show 2026 is one of the key moments of this special year, bringing together new products, future technologies and the next chapter of Mercedes‑Benz innovation.
“The Paris Motor Show brings together 140 years of pioneering spirit and the next chapter of Mercedes‑Benz. With models ranging from the all-new GLA to the new S‑Class, our biggest product-launch programme is now reaching customers across the entire portfolio. Strong demand for our electric cars shows that this offensive is gaining traction. Together with our markets and retail partners, we are turning that demand into an exceptional Mercedes-Benz experience. “
Jens Kunath, Vice President Sales & Financial Services Mercedes-Benz Cars
“It’s a particularly exciting moment for us to unveil the all-new electric VLE as a passenger car show premiere. What excites me most is that we are not simply introducing a new electric vehicle – we are rethinking what travelling in an MPV can feel like. With space for up to eight passengers, a range of more than 700 km1 and an entirely new level of comfort, the VLE brings together the freedom of electric mobility with the space and flexibility our customers value. For families, business executives and premium shuttle services alike, it opens the door to a new era of travelling – one that is more comfortable, more connected and more effortless.”
Mathias Vaitl, Head of Marketing and Sales, Mercedes-Benz Vans
